Gifts to Simpson College by Beneficiary Designation
Gifts by will or by revocable "living" trust are the most common form of deferred gifts to support Simpson College. A bequest is naming a person or recipient of a gift and is contained in a person's will or revocable (living) trust. The following language is an example of how a bequest to benefit Simpson may be worded, for review by you and your attorney:
I give, devise and bequeath to Simpson College (EIN 42-0680389), a qualified 501(c)(3) charitable organization located in Simpson College, _____ percent of my residual estate (or a specific bequest of $__________, or other personal or real property appropriately described) for (an endowed scholarship, program or unrestricted use), to be used in accordance with the terms of the most recent written directive I have signed with the College, and, if none exists, to be used as directed by the President of Simpson College.
