Couple’s Legacy Challenge Gift Recognizes Simpson’s Impact
Rob and Marti Bower '71 accepted the Simpson Legacy Challenge by documenting with the college their plans to include Simpson College in their estate plan. They accepted the challenge because, as Marti states, "Sometimes we forget what made it possible for us to attend a great college and become successful. It's important for students today to have people like us provide the same benefits and opportunities that we received."
Simpson College and a special matching donor launched the Matthew Simpson Society Legacy Challenge in May. The Legacy Challenge is a matching gift program for donors who make commitments in their will or other estate plan for our future. By documenting your gift, you can direct matching funds (equal to 5% of the value of your gift, up to $5,000) to an area of interest you choose, such as athletics, music or an area of study.
"Simpson has always been a part of our giving plans," Rob reflects. "Since the year we graduated, we have given whatever we can each year, and it just seems appropriate to leave something for our Simpson family after taking care of our own."
